MOTHDUST ✻ SHADOWCLAN
namemothdustreasoningagethat soft innocence of a newborn is tender and special. not long after she had been born a moth had come into the nursery, landing upon her nose. she sneezed, and due to the dappled colouring of her dusty pale grey fur, was dubbed moth. dust was the following prefix given to her to finish her namesake, but also because of her excellent ability to evade and dodge during battle.twenty three moonsgendershe-catallianceshadowclanrankwarriorphysique
short descriptiona dusty-gray tabby she-cat with soft yellow eyes
physical descriptionshe had always been small. but smallness isn't always a bad thing, isn't something that should be frowned upon or scoffed at. being small is not a weakness, in many ways, it is a strength all on it's own. those hulking beasts of cats whom walk with broad shoulders and shuffling paws are slower, easier to hit, and fall with a more lasting effect. mothdust's small size entitles her to more speed and agility. if she goes down, she is not often lingering, winded or struggling to heave her heavy body. she is fast and nimble.mothdust has a very thin frame, light bones, lighter build, small paws and small features. in every way, she is what could be called petite. the only mild downside to her small body, although sharp and poised, is her fur. although soft and pale, it is not quite a shadow among the trees and brush. it is still rather bold in spite of itself, not dark enough to be hidden, and not coloured enough to blend with anything. granted, her ability to camouflage is granted easier than a cat with white fur, however she is near enough to it for it to be difficult.her fur is a pale, almost willowy grey. dusty, and at the same time smokey, mothdust's fur is very distinctive in its own way. bordering on a white base, it is defined with light gray sketches around her legs, passing over her face, and narrowing darker long her tail. it dapples playfully along her spine, becoming fainter as it waltzes in and out of her even lighter grey-white fur. in comparison, mothdust's eyes are a very soft yellow colour, sharp enough to glint, yet not so chilling as the rest of her might seem. and it also appears that in some weather patterns, her fur darkens and lightens according to the temperature.

positives
- charisma is in itself a strange word. it is not specifically given to those with attractive qualities. to be charismatic means you have a solid level of confidence. you know what you want to say, something that many look for in others. to be charismatic means that you lead others to accept you or look up to you, in any kind of way. mothdust is charismatic.
- dedication means you will do something until it is done. it is a very simple trait, that some find difficult to task. she sticks to what she feels needs to be done unrelentingly and without complaint. it is single-minded loyalty. mothdust is dedicated.
- a meticulous personality can often be associated with pushiness or an orderly and sometimes stressful outtake. to be meticulous simply means you focus on precision, to get things done well, on time, and damn near perfect. mothdust is meticulous.
- being passionate about things does not necessarily mean you are a romantic. some mistake this for that, and it is not specifically that. a passionate individual is someone who is driven by strong feelings. someone who believes entirely in what they are doing or thinking. they can come across as emotional, intense, and sometimes even a bit scary. mothdust is passionate.
- what does reflective mean? it means you think hard, you think about previous things, you learn from things, and you may triumph. you learn from mistakes in the past, and you prove that you can do better the next time. mothdust is reflective.
negatives
- bluntness is rudeness, in a more negative standpoint than positive. a blunt individual says what they want to say without really realizing any pain or discomfort someone may see with it on the other side of the fence. mothdust is blunt.
- impatience has never been a good quality in anyone ever. nothing good comes out of ordering something to speed up. it ends in poor quality, frustration, and eventually, more impatience. it is that inability to wait until words are said, until things are done. specifically, waiting in general. mothdust is impatient.
- to be solemn is to be serious. they are earnest, and deeply rooted to being calm and straight faced. they hold themselves with a very formal or dignified air, finding childishness or immaturity to be selfish and ridiculous. mothdust is solemn.
- when the word pacifist is said, it is not dictated to mean she will cannot fight. a pacifist merely sees no reason or justification for bloodshed or war, and therefore avoids and turns away from it as much as she can. this is not to say they won't fight, or that they cannot fight. they can and will if ultimately necessary. mothdust is a pacifist.
- harshness in itself sides with being rather strict or to the point. it is a very no-nonsense trait that is rather unlikable. they like to get to the point, and if it does not get quick enough, they can become unpleasant or rough. mothdust is harsh.
the past
the historyevery new life starts with a little jolt, a little bump in the road that tell you yes you can live. you will live. it's called being born. it's called spending that first night nestled close to mothers belly, pressed close, gathering all of your strength. that is life, the very beginning of it. two very proud shadowclan cats became parents that night, twenty-three moons ago. sorrelfrost had gone into an unexpected labor, sooner than the medicine cats prediction. stress seemed to have been the leading factor, and likely also because sorrelfrost had not been ready to bear kits, perhaps ever. fortunately, it appeared that over the course of the night, the two kits that came from iceclaw and sorrelfrost's affections were healthy and strong.and everyone knows that kits mean strength in the clan. for many moons, no kits had been born. no apprentices to train, it was a sign of weakness in some ways. mothkit and graykit's birth brought excitement. as kits, the two relied mostly on each other for company, as there were no other kits in the nursery, and many of the she-cats staying with them were often disinterested in their play. in many cases, their kitten-hood was something extremely boring, and extremely long-lasting. however soon enough, graykit and mothkit became paws.graypaw had been given a mentor by the name of yewclaw, while mothpaw had been given a rather bouncy and excitable young tom by the name of seedwhisker. both warriors turned out exceptional warriors, and both warriors grew themselves, becoming greater warriors and better mentors. but it wasn't easy. mothpaw had always been a more docile young cat. reserved, but open about her opinions. quiet, but not a shadow. seedwhisker was louder, clumsier, and sillier than she was. as other apprentices came into the den, it provided a feeling of discomfort. she had always been accustomed to quiet, to peace, to normality.therefore, she focused nearly all of her time to her duties. she maintained a reserved relationship with the other apprentices, and even drifted from her brother. however, the only duties she found ridiculous and silly were battle training. so rather than providing hits and physical touch to down an opponent, she found recluse in evading. if she was quick enough, another cats weight pulled forward in an attempt to attack her would topple them over. it is also what eventually gave her her warrior name.mothpaw had never been a social bug. seeing a bunch of cats mingling and sharing stories made her smile, but was never something she herself saw doing. however, she grew to envy her brothers ability to melt into the crowd. to lead others, and to make friends easily. eventually, she found herself easing back into graypaw's life. she learned to adapt and adopt his air of confidence and make her own, and learned how to mimic his natural charisma. companionship was a new take on her, and a pang that she had let settle in her for too long. she enjoyed company after all, it seemed.soon enough, mothpaw and graypaw were given their warrior names, likely over a border scuffle or a stray and dangerous animal encounter as many apprentices find themselves apart of. graypaw became graytail, and mothpaw, mothdust. not many moons after, graytail had taken on a mate, something that mothdust herself took little interest in. with little differences or changes to daily events, life continued as usual. the seasons changed, prey came and went, kits were born, warriors made. the normal things that are taken for granted.then, six moons ago, a fire broke out in shadowclan. it tore everything up, everything that had at one time been peaceful, been normal, been natural. in that fire, gannetstar had been killed. in turn, littlewolf, shadowclan's deputy, became the next leader. in the gathering following this, littlestar had remained behind, allowing the new deputy whitesmoke to take the clan down. when they returned, their leader was gone. that previous, precious normality was gone. it appears that starclan has seen lies and deceit in the hearts of the clans, and has turned to punish them all one by one. there is talk, there is difference. change is coming, and it scares mothdust more than anything she has felt before.about you
