the river rock is a smooth, flat rock positioned on the far side of the river where land is present. cats gather to the edge of camp to listen to the leader across the water. the leader's den is on the camp's island, made of willow branches and stems woven into the roots of an ancient willow.

cragclan has many caves on its cliffs, and the medicine cat has the one closest to land. they need to make their way carefully to their den to store materials, and then scale the walls to bring them up to camp.

these dens are made up of tangles of reeds. It is mentioned that cats weave feathers in the reeds and decorate the edges with rocks and shells.

the apprentices sleep on dry land above the crags. the ground is rocky, dry, and very hard. it is quite uncomfortable, so apprentices often are excited when they get to leave for the warrior's den.

tucked away in a thick sedge wall, the nursery has natural protection and heat. the den is made of a tangle of reeds, similar to the other dens. also, the nursery has willow branches to support it from falling.
