STORMFROST deputy of hillclan |
Grey, dusty paws slithered soundlessly across the downhill grassy land, ears pricked and shimmering green eyes scanning the fields for any breath of life. Even though it might have looked like it, the young deputy was not actually out hunting. She wouldn't grant a mouse its life out of the goodness of her heart if it dared cross her path of course, but she wouldn't wait for it to sneak out of its hole, either. From the moment she had stretched out her limbs that morning, she had decided today would be different. She weren't sure how, but it would be. Her pace swiftened, and she quickly broke into a run as the ground flattened out in fornt of her.The hills stretched out endlessly in the horizon still, but she was following a different direction. Her paws carried her across the silent poppy field, her mind far too absent to take notice of the numerous prey scents that drifted with the soft breeze. She might return to hunt later, despite the crave being considerably less than usual. For Stormfrost, it wasn't a day for the death of any breathing organism, in honour of great Artio. Or, well, at least that's what she had convinced herself of.The she-cat sensed the wind growing stronger, and she guessed she must be nearing TimberClan's river. She made way for the small stream that trickled through HillClan and simultaneously bordered the two clan territories. She had suddenly decided her mouth felt drier than usual, and with no second thought she crouched down to lap up the cold liquid after she strode by the water's edge. Sweet Arausio, icy cold with a hint leaf-bare. She shivered, every hair on her pelt rising before lying flat again. Looking up while squinting her eyes, she let her green gaze travel beyond the stream into TimberClan's territory. Trees would begin to shield the biggest part of the lands before any cat could make out any shape approaching. The HillClan Deputy briefly wondered whether any of their patrols were on their way to renew the scent markers which indicated a need for her to hide. She instinctively lowered her body against the earth, her fluffy belly fur brushing against the soft muddy ground. She didn't feel ready to return to the camp yet, and observing another clan's territory sounded stimulating enough for the time being. |
