ADDERSTRIKE ✻ WINDCLAN
nameAdderstrikereasoningAdderstrike has markings similar to an adder, thus his parents named him Adderkit. Not only does he look like a European viper, but he has predictably sharp wit and is quite in touch with his argumentative, aggressive, and ambitious nature.age38 moonsgenderTomallianceWindclanrankWarriorphysique

Adderstrike is a light brown tabby with faint hazel eyes and a pink nose. He has a white muzzle, chest, and belly, with one white toe on his front right foot. His fur would be classified as medium and his build is a little bulkier than most Windclan cats, mostly due to his father's heritage from Shadowclan. Adderstrike is quite short, and although his height isn't necessarily problematic, his strides are certainly shorter than the average Windclan cat. His body is built for strength rather than lengthy bouts of speed. Adderstrike, for his build, is surprisingly agile and quick in bursts, though stamina is not his forte like it is for most of Windclan.
He does have a noticeable limp on his hind right from when he was attacked by a badger. Fortunately, it hasn't quite hindered his hunting capabilities, though his fighting style had to be significantly adapted to compensate for his weakness.personality

the past
the historyAdderstrike was born in a complicated family situation. His father was a very rigid, stubborn, grumpy, and hostile cat (often noted as "emotionally harsh") and expressed that quite openly with his family, specifically with Adderstrike. Adderstrike had always displayed a strong interest in medicine cat duties; it was an art in which he grew to enjoy greatly, and one might say most of his kithood was spent helping sort herbs against his father's will. Adderstrike's dad vigorously disapproved of his son's interest in medicine and healing. Both seemed to fight frequently due to their varying interests, passions, and views. At a very early age, Adderstrike firmly opposed almost everything his father said or did.
Despite conflicts between his father, Adderstrike was a very amiable, exuberant, and outgoing kitten. He was constantly participating in games, stories, and mock-training sessions with the other kits. He was especially close to his "younger" brother, Blackkit; a small, lithe, black tom-kit with strikingly vivid, golden eyes. Adderstrike often convinced his brother to leave camp on secret missions, and almost every time, the two kits made it back without being discovered. Though the adventure and exhilaration was short lived.
_________________________________________________________________________
One winter morning, Blackkit and Adderkit began heading towards Shadowclan territory. The air was still and the crackling heather smelt fresh in the gelid atmosphere. The skies were grey and uniform. Adderkit was avidly charging through the golden heather, his brother close behind, and the impulsive decision to adventure outside of camp early that morning sent excitement pulsing through the kits' veins.
It wasn't long before they felt the chill rattle deep in their bones, spreading from their soft pads to the tips of their ears. Blackkit was lagging behind further and further, and snow had begun to fall, growing heavier by the minute. They had decided to turn back, though anxiety began to grow like a quickspreading cancer deep in Adderkit's chest. His pace quickened, and it was several moments later before he recognized Blackkit's meows were suddenly very faint.
Adderkit spun around and tried to trace back his steps, though it seemed like Blackkit was getting farther and farther away. No matter how many times he called, Blackkit's wails became increasingly distant. Adderkit's throat grew sore with despair. It wasn't long before Blackkit's cries were completely inaudible, Adderkit just curled up in the snow, fatigue pulling his pathetic, rugged, and damp figure to the frozen earth. The sound of wind and the sight of white snow began to fade. It almost felt like a dream, the teeth digging into his scruff and the faint indistinguishable voice of of a strange smelling cat. Warm breath on the back of his neck instilled a spark of life within the young adventurer, though exhaustion did finally overcome him.
Adderkit awoke in Shadowclan and spent a few days growing stronger before his journey back to Windclan. He actually grew quite close to a few kits and learned a few new herbs while he was there. Adderkit was mildly disappointed to leave, though the thought of seeing his brother again excited him more than ever. The journey back with the Shadowclan medicine cat was quite fun. They talked about herbs, and the medicine cat seemed to be quite impressed with Adderkit's knowledge. When they reached the border, a group of Windclan warriors took Adderkit back to Windclan camp expressing professional gratitude to the Shadowclan medicine cat.
Blackkit had been discovered by the Windclan dawn patrol and was resting in the medicine cat's den. Although Adderkit had recovered strongly, Blackkit had come down with greencough and was severely sick. The brothers were allowed little to no contact with each other in fear of spreading the sickness to other cats. It was only a few short days before Blackkit was pronounced dead. His father blamed Adderkit, and Adderkit strongly denied. In fact, from this point onward, Adderkit denied any responsibility in less than desirable results. Nothing is ever his fault.
Adderkit was a changed cat after his brother's death. The fun, confident kit the clan once knew grew into an irritable, insecure, morose, and surly apprentice. His visits to the medicine cat's den stopped. He slept all the time. He was severely detached from the clan and barely ate. Adderkit grew thin and emotionally unstable. He became very aggressive and argumentative, and impulsively decided an abrupt career change. Adderkit wanted to be a soldier. Shortly after Blackkit's death was his apprentice ceremony, and the medicine cat openly offered an apprentice position to Adderkit, though he brusquely refused. The next day, he was assigned a warrior mentor.
Adderpaw's ambitions of becoming a highly respected warrior took over his life. He separated himself from the clan socially, constantly practicing battle moves and strategies. Hunting was never his strong suite, perhaps because of his newfound impatience and irritability. He grew to be an excellent fighter, and much more offensive than Windclan is normally. The emotions fueling his success and aggression were a growing concern to the senior warriors.
It was his parents' death that provoked his inner neuroticism. Nearing the end of his apprentice training, his parents were hunted down and killed by dogs. Although Adderpaw had never been close with his father, his mother's death crazed him and awoke very unpredictable stages of anxiety, depression, and other stresses. Although he grew to become emotionally unstable, Adderpaw passed his final assessment with flying colors.
His warrior ceremony, along with a few other peers, brought on a new era of responsibility for Adderstrike. He began to sanely control his negative traits and express his positive traits. He started expressing very diligent and resolute mannerisms of which were quite impressive changes from his previous self. He also began expressing his aggressive nature in border skirmishes and interclan issues. He became very punctual, and his ambitions of helping Windclan prosper were honorable, though his deepest desires are well hidden, right next to his neurotic, argumentative, prejudice, rigid, and hostile tendencies.
The dark sides of his personality seep out randomly and in small concentration, though his mind is constantly clouded with death and paranoia. His unwavering morals are sometimes frustrating, especially when paired with his argumentative and manipulative nature, though the loyalty he expresses to his clan and clanmates is undying.
Adderstrike has grown into an impressive warrior, and much of his warrior days has been warming up to his clanmates after his rough kithood. Unfortunately, although he has immersed himself in the clan's social matters and has established himself as useful and dedicated member of the clan, he often enjoys his solitude away from all the bustling bodies in camp.about you
