"i wouldn't recommend changing things too much; unless you know what you're doing... They aren't really comfortable with things they don't know. Everyone has a fear of the unknown... but then again, do we really know what much now??" |
Another
great day was rolling along by at its own pace, and the
little gray she-cat sat found herself sitting at the edge of the
Medicine Cat's den once again. Technically, she was still an apprentice
and had another den to stay in, but she felt so at home where she was.
She didn't want Doeeyes to leave for any reason, and yet she couldn't
wait until she was done with her training and was ready to start off on
her own. She only hoped that she could be useful enough, since the
experience she had at that moment was lacking to say the least. Her
recent failed attempt at climbing the sycamore proved that.
The
dainty she-cat began to hum to herself as she peered out at the other
cats, wondering what they were up to. She had only ever been out of camp
a few times, usually to collect herbs, but from what she had seen their
territory was beautiful. It really was a blessing, wasn't it?? Still,
she tried to remain impartial to it. She could not loose herself to awe,
for fear of getting distracted from her duties by falling into emotion.
She was trying to train herself to be indifferent, hoping to find a
state in which she was not ungrateful but in which she did not find
thing to be lost in. Dabbling in affairs and feelings was not part of
her determined job, so it was not needed. She already had enough to
thank StarClan more, and tried not to desire anything else.
"I
wonder if I'll have any company today," she muttered to herself,
watching the passerby. Having company with her occupation could have a
double edge. On one paw, company was nice because she could have a
conversation and get to know her Clanmates better. On the other, a
Medicine Cat rarely had company unless said company had an injury, which
was never any fun for either party. She liked to be useful, but she
wasn't exactly fond of the idea of her extended family getting injured.
Ah, well... Whatever life brought it, she would be sure to find the
positives in it.
