Vixenthroat stormed off along the side of the thunderpath, cursing under her breath with each step she took. She had just had an ugly discussion with Stripetalon, another Shadowclan warrior a bit older than her. She lashed her tail from side to side as she kept walking, on a the path parallel to the thunderpath that Shadowclan used for patrolling the border, far enough to be safe from the monsters roaring jaws, but close enough to see to the other side, where the cats from the other clans might set up their spies.
She was alone. She had gone alone for a walk that morning when she happened to run into Stripetalon, she could've invited him to tag along but, after his snazzy comments she didn't want to see him for at least a day. He had ruined her mood completely..now she was patrolling the border by herself, muttering angrily under her breath. Not a wise thing to do, since thousand of things could go wrong while being alone so close to the thunderpath. But she wasn't thinking straight, rage blinded her judgement preventing her from making racional decisions.
Then a loud roaring broke into her thoughts. Her claws clung to the dried out grass that remained after the harsh leaf-bare. The roaring grew louder and louder and the ground beneath her started to tremble. A monster flashed by, spitting a grey cloud of smoke from behind.
She narrowed her eyes, watching the monster disappear as fast as it had appeared.
Then a small figure across the thunderpath caught her eye. It was another cat! She lifted her nose and took in all scents around her, it lookes like..windclan! She raised her tail with hostility and positioned herself on the edge of the thunderpath, where she could stand facing the mysterious cat on the other side.
