"I will go with Smallclaw"
As soon as the words left her mouth, they left a sour little flavor that stuck to her tongue; a mix of melancholy and regret. She didn't know what was best for her. she had never known to make choice, even if she was forced to rely on her own judgement from such an early age, she was always wary and indecisive when it came to making important life decisions. Deep in side she was terrified of making a mistake like the one her mother had made. She thought the path of failure had alredy been laid out for her -she could thank her mother for it-, she felt she had a greater chance of making a mistake that any of her clanmates, she just had to avoid it alt all cost.
She had never seen a different alternative way of life, she had always thought that her life had already been set for her, and now the choice of a new begining was tempting. She had acted out of impulse, clinging to the thought that a new land meant a new home and that would mean a new way of life. The journey was going to be treacherous but if they managed to make it through it'd be all worth it in the end. The reward seemed too good.Maybe too good to be true. This journey promised to give her all she had ever wanted, all at once. It looked like a twisted promise made by the devil himself, the words too sweet, it had to have a catch to it.
Because as Vixenthroat knew all too well, no good came freely.

She had also learned that no harsh word came by unnoticed, especially in Shadowclan where pride and ego were merged together making Shadowclanners almost insufferable. That's why it was not surprising for someone to return Vixenthroat's hard words, it was not likely of a shadowclanner to let an insult slide by or an enemy escape without a scratch. What was surprising was that it was a completely random cat who spoke up. Smokewolf had nothing to do between Vixethroat and Acaciapaw's altercation, yet she had raised her voice calling Vixenthroat's name in a dry tone.
"You aren't her mentor so don't act like it. And while I don't think she should go it is still her choice... and her life to do with as she pleases."
She stared at the older she-cat blankly, she had never implied that she was Acaciapaw's mentor or that she was going to take any kind of choice over her -as Sunflower had already suggested with Loonpaw-. "Oh, I think you got it wrong, for I don't intend to take any kind of decision for her, " she mewed flicking her tail tip towards Sunflower, maybe intentionally. " It is her life, you're right, so the same way you ask me to butt out of little Acaciapaw's life choices, why don't you do the same with the rest of your clanmates who have chosen to leave?" she mewed coolly, with no more than a faint smile settling in her mouth. Then with a little 'boo hoo' pout she glared at the infamous Acaciapaw, who after bluring out senseless excuses to leave couldn't get herself to defend her own point.
Then another cat, still not the accused subject herself, rose to give Vixenthroat a piece of her mind.“Who gives you the right to judge Acaciapaw?”. Laurelpaw's voice demanded. Oh Laurelpaw, the clan's little attention hog. Vixenthroat had never spoken to her directly but she had mocked her more than once when she was an apprentice and Laurelpaw, was a kit. She was the noisiest most annoying kit in the nursery, pathetic and whiny all the time. She had everything she wanted including the two toms that hovered over her like her slaves. And it was Vixenthroat who got called the slut! How ironic..
“If we are trying to avoid helpless kits then we might as well leave you behind. StarClan knows you’ll just get knocked up with the first tom who shows you any attention.”
Oh, now she'd pushed it.
Vixenhroat felt her fur start to bristle and her claws become unsheathed, sinking into the mix of snow and mud below. Her eyes became green sliths of hatred and her lip curled back revealing a snarl, "Oh says the kit with two boyfriends who also happen to be slaves" she mocked lashing her tail like a whip. "The day I get 'knocked up' you get to call me a whore, now shut your mouth. You shoud now about receiving attention, you live for it. The day those toms decide to look away, it'll be the end of you. Beauty fades sweetheart, my mother is the vivivd proof, but personality doesn't age, sadly for you, who lacks of it completely. " she snarled. She was on the brink of taking a swipe at her, scoring her claws across the snob kitten face would be magical, but she knew more than one cat might rise to defend her and she wasn't about to get a beating for it. Through the years she had learned -form her mother- that sometimes sharp words would hurt more than sharp claws.
She had been so busy arguing with Laurelpaw, that she almost missed another tom's response. The voice was clearly Stripetalon's, she knew it too well. She expected a harsh comment or sarcastic mocking to come out of his mouth, -it did- but surprisingly it was not directed to her..
Stripetalon was on her side, he was calling Laurelpaw out, exposing to the whole clan how her mother wasn't an angel either. A smirk of satisfaccion spread across her face. She met Stripetalon's eyes, they were bright but at the same time a bit narrowed. Why would he do that for her? Was he doing it because he wanted something in return, or was it pity? No, he seemed sincere.. but why?
Why would the cat who had teased her not long ago would now defens her? It was almost irracional, how could his attitude towards her shift so suddenly. There must be an obscure, twisted reasong behind this, she thought, her eyes fixed on the tabby tom. First he got on her nerves, insulted and toyed with her, and now he was almost begging her to stay and siding with her like he was as deeply offended as she was..
What was he playing?
"Besides, SkyClan is a new beginning,"
The words echoed in her head with almost a melodic rhythm to it. A new beggining wasn't that what she had always wanted?
Her greatest desire, at the tip of her paw, so close, it felt like she had just opened her eyes for the first time.
Stripetalon was right, Skyclan meant a new beggining, it was a new clan after all..
"Her mother's reputation will mean nothing. I promise... I wont bring it up again if it really bothers her that much..."
Was this the real Stripetalon speaking? Who are you and what have you done with Stripetalon?, she thought pricking her ears. He was promising all that she had ever wanted, treating her as an honorable warrior instead of the dirty slut she was so often called.

Once more Vixentrhoat was left to wonder. A choice to be made..
She thought about going on with her previous statement, but she had realized that as hard as she forced herself to go, herheart screamed at her to stay. Besides Stripetalon's offer was tempting.
He promised to do what Laurelpaw never would if she decided to go.
...
Blinking slowly, she turned back to Laurelpaw, her gaze shifting from her and Smallclaw.
"Thinking about it, you're right Laurelpaw, I don't want to steal your thunder so I'll stay," she mewed dryly, "I wish you well on your journey" she mewed finally blinking respectfully at the new Shadowclan leader.
